Majorca, the largest Balearic Island, both in area and population, is an island of incredible and varied beauty, with a surprising landscape of beaches and hills, but also of cliffs and mountains. Its crystal clear waters attract sailing boats and yachts from all over the world to enjoy days in the shelter of the island's incredible coves and beaches. Thanks to its natural beauty, fantastic climate and incredible range of leisure and services, Majorca has traditionally been a favourite holiday destination for Europeans. The lively capital, Palma, enjoys a fascinating mix between the cosmopolitan nature of a great capital, with its international atmosphere and modern services, and the authenticity of the Mediterranean cities, with an old town full of alleys, monuments and squares. In addition to Palma's famous cathedral, the bustling port and its wide range of cultural offerings, Palma has a lively nightlife, especially in the summer season when the island is visited by tourists and celebrities.
The Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is a mountain range running southwest–northeast which forms the northern backbone of the island, with mountains as high as 1445 metres. This mountain area and its many nearby villages attract thousands of visitors each year, who enjoy its striking landscapes, the native flora and fauna, and the many points of interest, such as lighthouses, viewpoints and trails. Along the extensive coast we can find numerous fishing villages, many with a marked Mediterranean style.
These towns attract visitors because of their atmosphere, their beaches and their gastronomic offer, and they bring a sense of peace that few places on the island can offer. One of them, Puerto Portals, only 15 minutes by car from the capital, has become an exclusive residential area and the perfect place to rest for both locals and visitors. Located in an area of typical Mediterranean coves and beaches, Portals Nous currently has a luxury marina, Puerto Portals, and from its promenade, where there is a good variety of restaurants and bars, you can enjoy a pleasant meal with views of the impressive yachts and the lively coming and going of visitors.
It is precisely in this pleasant and quiet town, and only 10 minutes walking distance from the marina, where our hotel Tacande Portals 4* is located. Recently renovated, the Tacande Portals 4* hotel has modern rooms and has been carefully decorated and equipped with everything you need for an unforgettable holiday in Majorca. Our guests also have at their disposal the fantastic facilities of the hotel and the exclusive services of the Gold Level category, with which they can make the most of their stay on the island.
In addition to its sandy beaches and turquoise coves, the Island of Calm has much more to offer. Sport, gastronomy, rest, shopping, culture... Majorca has everything you need to enjoy a holiday with unforgettable experiences.
The island has many shopping centres and open-air shopping areas, and thanks to the variety of visitors the island receives, you can find everything from luxury boutiques with the most exclusive brands to small independent shops full of unique items. Most of the shopping areas are located in the capital and in the most populated towns. Some of the most visited shopping centres are Porto Pi, FAN Majorca Shopping and La Vila. In the centre of Palma you can also find shops of famous brands and many other independent boutiques.
Although eclipsed by the world famous nightlife of its little sister, Ibiza, Majorca offers many leisure options to enjoy when the sun goes down. The island's lively atmosphere, especially during the summer season, guarantees fun until dawn any day of the week.
