Made famous through the work of the world reknowned artist Cesar Manrique, the "Jameos del Agua" is one of a series of interconnected caves located along the northeast coast of Lanzarote originally derived from vast underground rivers of lava created by eruptions of the famous "Volcán de Corona".

  Truly one of the world's natural wonders, a trek through this cave will lead you to one of Lanzarote's best kept secrets.   A scenic outpost and restaurant situated along the cliffs of northern Lanzarote, the "Mirador del Rio " is a unique construction of glass and natural stone that perfectly melds with the countryside.   Also designed by the world famous canarian artist Cesar Manrique, the "Mirador del Rio " offers breathtaking views of the straights that separate the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.  
  
   
• Excursión: "Casa Museo del Campesino"
  Also designed by its native son, Cesar Manrique, the "Casa Museo del Campesino" is a museum dedicated to the historic struggles of the native "conejero" people to establish a viable form of agriculture in the hostile growing conditions of the Lanzarote countryside. A unique treat, the museum's restaurant specializes in exquisite creations based solely upon the local produce.
  
   
• Excursión: "Castillo de San José "
  Erected near the outskirts of Arrecife, the modern day capital of Lanzarote, this fortification was originally constructed as an early warning outpost charged with detecting the arrival of marauding pirates and sounding the alarm. Like many other sites of historic importance, it was transformed by Cesar Manrique into what is now the most important museum of modern art to be found in the Canary Islands .
  
   
• Excursión: Wines of Lanzarote.
  Famous for its succulent, aromatic "vinos blancos" (white wines), the vineyards of Lanzarote are unlike any others you have ever seen. Due to the unique geographic and climatic conditions, local growers have developed creative ways to nurture and harvest the "malvasia" grapes, the local variety that comprises the vast majority used in "conejero" wine.
